Love is for Suckers

Dracula was a pimp. He wore a cape and kept a cadre of women under his control. The police were always hassling him. He walked the streets at night and was feared by men. Sometimes he answered to the name "Prince." Theatre VCU's "Dracula," starring Brandon Crowder, isn't a disco revamp of Bram Stoker's classic novel, but a return to the fervor and seduction of the original tale. Suspense and tension drive this version of Steven Dietz's play, with special effects accenting the fear of the unknown. The play continues Nov. 15-17 at 7:30 at the Raymond Hodges Theatre at VCU. $15-$18. 828-6026.
