Locksley at the Canal Club

With the recent release of a remastered Beatles catalog it seems a little more than fortuitous that Locksley has found itself kicking off a new set of tour dates this week. With an affinity for coordinating stage attire and a fondness for mixing modern garage rock with the scream-inducing sound of the '60s British Invasion, the Brooklyn four-piece has been hard at work putting together the final touches on “Be in Love,” the follow-up to its 2007 debut, “Don't Wait Me Wait.” Complete with four-part harmonies, lyrical referencing to girls and darlings, and general Kinks-influenced guitar flourishes, Locksley will have the opportunity to unveil its new material in a live setting while supporting Mae at the Canal Club on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. $12-$15. 643-2582. — Mike Hilleary
