Letter: Shamrock Fight Video Analysis

While watching the eight-minute video on YouTube, I saw nothing overly aggressive carried out by the police officer in question. It has nothing to do with my age, outlook on life or political affiliations. You have to put the entire situation into perspective. Two police officers are trying to control and collect information from individuals involved in a fight. All this while a group of several dozen people gather around the said officers yelling, making anti-gay comments, and I'm sure profanity directed towards the officers. My only question is, what was the delay in getting officer backup? Maybe Richmond should implement police on horseback. Just watch footage from Mardi Gras in New Orleans — that clears crowds.
