I’m a sucker for musical juxtapositions and Last Bison has an abundance of pleasing melodic abutments to savor on their new release “Inheritance.” The Chesapeake seven-piece blends the Decemberists’ indie folk with Bach baroque to create an idiosyncratic journey into sound. Best of all, the audio alchemy doesn’t stuff a square peg in a round hole; the band is a harmonious marriage of intent and execution. Members bring their stately charms to the Canal Club on Saturday, Sept. 7. Opening are rambunctious Richmond rockers the Vacant Stairs and the Southern gothic Americana of the Blue and the Grey. The all-ages show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $12.
