Because he's the son of singer and songwriter Steve Earle, with a name taken after country-folk cult legend Townes Van Zandt, it's difficult to imagine Justin Townes Earle being anything else but a musician. After spending his youth playing in various ensembles, even touring with his old man's band, the Dukes, and kicking a bad bout with drugs, Earle has since put his house in order to become one of the pre-eminent young talents in the alt-country genre. Hitting a critical career high with his latest album, "Harlem River Blues," Earle is scheduled to perform at the Camel on Friday, April 8, at 8 p.m. $20.
