Singer and songwriter Julia Nunes is best known for making YouTube music videos of her original songs, as well as tackling covers of some of her favorite bands, including the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Destiny’s Child. Using some unconventional instruments such as the ukulele, guitar, melodica and piano, Nunes has won over fans with her fun and upbeat music as well as her engaging personality, which led her to open for the likes of Ben Folds, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer and Ben Kweller. Her new album, “Settle Down” — released this week — began as a Kickstarter campaign, which surpassed its goal of $10,000 in less than 24 hours. Julia Nunes performs at the Camel on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. $10-$12. 353-4901.
