After a long hiatus, local singer and songwriter Jonathan Vassar of the Speckled Bird, Homemade Knives and Ophelia returns with a solo performance at the Live at Ipanema series. It’s in anticipation of his new 16-song release this fall called “Mercy for the Undeserving.” The performance will include many songs that haven’t been recorded, in an effort to make a live EP from the evening. Jonathan Vassar performs at Ipanema on Sunday, June 2, at 10 p.m. Free. ipanemaveg.com/lai.
