Re: “After Dominion Decision, RVA Creatives Continue Social Media Push

They WILL not be swayed by anyone... They are a utility monopoly... They dont have to bow to anyone because there is no alternative.. They will destroy whatever they can without care for the people whose lives are impacted... My heart goes out to the people who live and play on this river.. Who appreciate and respect it... This is a huge slap in the face to people with a brain cell left in their head. All of the state and federal tax dollars spent to bring back the migratory fish, and improve the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed means nothing to these assholes. All the people who work to clean up this river every year, the people who work and fish the Chesapeake Bay, to which the James flows in to.. This is a blatant slap in the face.. They sat in that room and heard the concerns of the citizens but DID NOT LISTEN.. Then voted for a corporation that wants to dump waste water right into the river.. Farmers cant let their cows shit in this river, but Dominion can piss toxic waste into the river.. At the same time Michigan had to declare a state of emergancy because the quality of their water source is so polluted from industrial abuse of the river.. Theres logic for you.. wheres the governor, Mr. Democrat Champion of Nature and Conservation?

From deep bottom boat landing go downstream, take a right at Rivers Bend golf course and follow it back inland.. They have signs warning of increased bacteria risk, but the further in you go, the more you see the bottom become progressively more grey.. You can see the particles floating in the water.. It's sickening..

Im going to tell you now.. Anyone who has a boat can go see it for themselves.. They are ALREADY polluting the river with some sort of ash from their warm water exhaust into the James at their BREMO plant! The bottom of the water is grey.. You can see it for yourself.. Take pictures, post them on Dominions Facebook page. DEMAND answers!

Heather Wood of all people should be absolutely ashamed of herself.. Being in the Norfolk chapter of the DEQ and knowing the impact that the rivers water quality have on the fishing and aqua culture of the Chesapeake.. All of the money invested by the coastal watershed localities to bring the fishing and oyster populations back, and to sell out to Dominion Power... I hope people really give her HELL

Re: “Dominion Gets Approval to Dump Treated Coal Ash Wastewater in James River

I cant be the only person to have ever gone back between Deep Bottom Park and Rivers Bend golf course on my kayak.. Back past the signs that say something to the effect of "Warning, Elevated Water Temperatures, Increased bacterial warning"... Not one to be deterred from an exploration, you come to the place where the heated water exhausts from the Bremo plant.. The bottom of the river is COVER in grey soot.. This to me looks very much like the ash from a fireplace that has settled at the bottom of the water. This river is a serious flood risk, and it isnt uncommon that these "treatment" plants become overwhelmed during floods, and spill directly into the river system, untreated... Furthermore it's happend in the James recently. Now how about the health of the Chesapeake Bay which can barely keep native crabs and fish and oysters because of the water quality? There are PLENTY of reasons to fight this, tooth and nail folks.. These elected officials are SELLING YOU OUT! I've moved out of state.. I live in Florida now, and they have taken serious steps to keeping things like this from spoiling the water quality, and it shows.. You can actually eat the fish.. It's crazy.. I had never seen anything like it.. Its really nice to not have to worry about PCB's or Kepone, or Creasote, or brain eating amoebas that thrive in polluted waterways like the James River.. The so-called JEWEL OF RVA.. This is pathetic.. They are planning on fastracking a oil pipeline across the James as well... BE LOUD and DO NOT BACK DOWN if you love the river and want to see it get better, rather than worse..
