Reggie Pace and Devonne Harris recently launched Jellowstone Records.
The new local label Jellowstone Records is Stax/Volt, Blue Note and Def Jam all rolled into one. No BS! Brass band trombonist Reggie Pace has assembled a truly impressive trove of singers and players to record for his label. Be it jazz, hip-hop, country, funk or soul, Pace’s team can play them all. Richmond’s budding Berry Gordy will put its talent up for an old-school review Friday, Aug. 22, with Jellowfest. A dizzying array of music will be performed by the Marcus Tenney Trio, Butcher Brown, Pace Cadets, Trio of Justice, Arizal, Kings, DJ Harrison, Sound Genesis, No BS! Brass band and others. If you see only one show this week, make it this one. One day, you’ll be telling your kids about it. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $8-$15. thebroadberry.com.
