When the Jefferson Hotel lights up the tree in its rotunda and holds a parade down the grand staircase, Richmond’s holiday season is unofficially under way — even if some local radio stations already switched to Christmas music last week. Festivities include music by local groups and the parade, culminating with the arrival of Santa Claus and the tree lighting. The ceremony takes place at the Jefferson Hotel on Monday, Nov. 26. Holiday music begins at 5:15 p.m. followed by the lighting of the tree at 6 p.m. Free. jeffersonhotel.com.
