Born and raised in Lynchburg and living in Richmond, singer and songwriter Jared Jones captures his audience with tracks full of pop and R&B flavors, which channel the likes of artists such as Steve Wonder. He studied creative writing at Virginia Commonwealth University, which only strengthened his work as a songwriter as he dove head-first into a music career. Jones and his band Lust Not Love have graced many Richmond stages, including the National, Brown’s Island, the Camel and others, quickly developing a strong fan base. Get to know Jared Jones and Lust Not Love when the group performs at the Hippodrome Theater as part of the RVA Grooves summer concert series on Saturday, June 9, at 8 p.m. $10. rvagrooves.com.
