More of an art project than a traditional band, Brooklyn’s Japanther uses performance art, punk rock and interactive elements. Recent projects include “Japanther in 3D,” a New York State Council on the Arts-funded book and film companion to the band’s interactive rock opera, and “Beets, Limes and Rice,” the band’s newest album full of punk-rock goodness. The band has played places as varied as street corners, historic concert halls and the Williamsburg Bridge and will hit Strange Matter on Friday, March 2, at 9 p.m. $7. 447-4763.
