Alternative rock ’n’ roll group Jane’s Addiction has sold millions of records in its 27-year history. Despite numerous hiatuses and public controversies, the band has managed to remain a constant force in modern rock music through numerous platinum-certified albums and hit singles such as “Jane Says” and “Been Caught Stealing” — both of which received Grammy nominations — and the re-energizing, music-festival culture with Lollapalooza. Last year the band released “The Great Escape Artist,” which many critics are calling a source of the band’s revitalization. Expect to hear classic songs (and plenty of others) when Jane’s Addiction performs at the National on Friday, March 9, at 8:30 p.m. (If you can find a ticket. It’s sold out.) 612-1900.
