Jamie Foxx brings his “Intuition” to the Richmond Coliseum

If it weren't for Tom Hanks, it would be nearly impossible to think of anyone besides Jamie Foxx who's successfully transitioned from a sitcom cross-dresser to an Academy Award—winning actor. While both men have had luck reinventing themselves, only Foxx has moonlighted as a Grammy-nominated musician, too. Along with using music to impart life to his acting roles — as in “Ray” and “The Soloist” — Foxx has spent the last several years thriving in the music industry with his smooth crossover R&B. He holds his own alongside the likes of Kanye West, Ludacris, Common, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige. The multitiered talent performs at the Richmond Coliseum in support of his latest release, “Intuition.” Sunday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m. $40—$60. For tickets, call 1-800-745-3000 or visit www.ticketmaster.com. — Mike Hilleary
