Fresh off a breakout performance at the inaugural Bruise Cruise — alongside the Black Lips, Vivian Girls and emcee Ian Svenonius — Miami trio Jacuzzi Boys keeps reaping praise for their jangly garage rock that drops little-known '60s Florida groups such as the Everglades and the Birdwatchers as influences. Since forming in 2007, the sun-kissed group has earned some big-name fans with Jack White releasing a live album and Iggy Pop showing up at a show. They recently signed a deal with indie boutique Hardly Art that should produce a new album later this year with more reverb, more Mo Tucker-like drumming and more swaggering vocals from Venezuelan frontman Gabriel Alcala. Come hear hazy songs about sex and seashells, dead animals and birthday cake — but stay on the lookout for hipster bear traps. Clue: they contain Pabst and neon pink Wayfarers. The Jacuzzi Boys perform at Strange Matter on Monday, March 28, at 8 p.m. 447-4763.
