Itchy Hearts’ Andy Cobb is the friendliest punk you’ll ever meet. He’s been playing shows in Richmond for years while amassing a steady following of fans with his rustic punk sounds. With each song on his 2011 release, “Tried to Be Punk,” the Richmond-based artist took punk music and honed it in for an acoustic feel without losing any of the energy behind it. After touring extensively and playing out of Brooklyn, Cobb and company return home for their eager fans. Itchy Hearts perform at the Camel on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 9 p.m. $5. 353-4901.
