Rising to prominence alongside the likes of the Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party during the decade's post-punk revival period, New York City's Interpol landed substantial amounts of critical praise for its 2002 debut, “Turn on the Bright Lights,” and its 2004 follow-up, “Antics.” Channeling Joy Division's rapidly down-striking guitar work and brooding melancholy into grander atmospheric production, Interpol falls into the space where confrontation and emotional collapse come together.  After the upgrading to Capitol Records on “Our Love to Admire,” the band is scheduled to release its anticipated fourth album in September. With openers Twin Tigers, Interpol performs at the National on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m. $25-$28.
