Incentive for Church: Affordable Insurance

Professor James Twitchell notes that the growth of traditional, smaller churches "has stalled, and they are seeing these megachurches really apply marketing innovations and capture huge chunks of the market" ("The Soft Sell," Cover Story, Nov. 7).

I know of one incentive that will easily pack the pews of traditional American churches, as well as those of other houses of worship: Affordable group-rate health insurance. Throw in dental, vision and prescription plans, and you'll have families lined up in the parking lot to join the congregation.
