Imaginary Sons, Toxic Moxie and Bandrew at the Camel

Saturday, Jan. 10

Catchy rock may go in and out of vogue, but it never goes out of style. As Dick Clark used to say on “American Bandstand,” Richmond’s Imaginary Sons make rock music that has a good beat and is easy to dance to. Teaser tracks “Kicking the Cup” and “Talkie Talkie” from their debut, full-length release, “Let It Beer,” are straight ear candy for the pop-punker set with plenty of hooks and harmonies to appeal to anyone who plays Weezer’s “Blue Album” or Green Day’s breakthrough record, “Dookie,” with regularity. In a nutshell, the Imaginary Sons play a brand of good-time, sing-a-long party music. The group celebrates the release of its debut album Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Camel. Fellow let’s-get-the-party-going Richmond bands Toxic Moxie and Bandrew open. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $7. thecamel.org.
