Richmond gets a new professional baseball team. The home opener of the Richmond Flying Squirrels' inaugural season, on April 15, concludes with a big bang.

Photographer's note: My tendency the evening of the home opener was to run around and photograph every angle. But instead I got my best shot at the highest vantage point in the stadium, where I used an ultrawide lens to show the stadium, fans, fireworks and city.
