A baseball coach fields an unlikely team, bringing baseball back to the inner city after a four-year hiatus. The Mosby Spartans, made up of players ages 8 through 10, include Corey Baker, Eddie Pressley, Terrell “Dex” Hancock and Keyante Wright.
Photographer's note: I arrived at the Mosby Court Community Center on a perfect spring day to photograph what I thought would be a small story on the rebirth of little league in the Mosby Court section of East Richmond. After realizing this was the championship game with all the parental and community support, writer Scott Bass and I got swept up in the excitement of the day and stayed to document the entire game. The Spartans won, and this story became a cover feature.
