Lilly Ann Pauley came forward with her frightening account of the day she and her daughter realized that two men staying in their Richmond home were the men responsible for killing the Harvey family in 2006. Then they led police to the men's whereabouts. Nearly five years later her son, Larry Johnson, tells her story in a new book, “Cold Blooded: The New Year's Day Massacre.”

Photographer's note: Lilly Ann Pauley refuses to go anywhere near the house where the story unfolded. So I met her and her son in an abandoned parking lot near the airport. When she stepped in front of the camera her demeanor changed dramatically. She went from a cheerful mom to someone haunted by what she's lived through.
