Jessi Rosenberg, a 19 year-old VCU student attended the March 2 silent counter protest organized by the Virginia Holocaust Museum against a demonstration of the Westboro Baptist church, an independent organization that travels around the United States picketing and spreading anti-gay, anti-Jewish messages, among other beliefs.

Photographers Note:  Writer Sara Tisdale and I were searching for the right face to tell the counter protest story. When I saw the painted face I knew the image would work if I put her strong in the foreground and showed some of the police and protesters in the background.
