Unpublished
In this unpublished photo, Jerome was standing on Brookland Park Boulevard in his fine red hat and matching shoes. He said “some people around here have things to hide, not me.” If you need to find me I hang out at the fish shop.”

Photographer's note: The day was overcast and cold when I saw Jerome from across the street in his red hat. When I approached him I saw the one blue eye and thought, “This has all the ingredients for a good portrait.”
