Former Ben Folds Five drummer Darren Jessee, who co-wrote some of that band’s biggest hits including “Brick” and “Song for the Dumped,” now fronts the rock band Hotel Lights, whose recently released new album, “Girl Graffiti,” was recorded at Richmond’s Sound of Music studio. “Girl Graffiti” has the feel of a live recording, but with a polished and well-crafted style. Though the band has plenty of uplifting pop melodies, Hotel Lights is a rock group. And you can expect some well-written and entertaining songs. Hotel Lights perform at the Camel on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. $10-$12. 353-4901.
