While it may be filed in the category of worst band names, having such a ridiculous moniker as Hoobastank certainly hasn't stopped the alt-rock ensemble from enjoying commercial success during the past several years, most notably in 2004 with the release of its Billboard-topping single, “The Reason.” Touring with its latest record, “For(N)ever,” Hoobastank plays Toad's Place on Wednesday, March 4, at 8 p.m. $15-$17. 648-TOAD. — Mike Hilleary
