Think winter (yes, already). Many chimney cleaners offer seasonal discounts, and now's the time to deter chimney swifts. If the birds are already nesting, it's illegal to disturb them: "Where they nest is imprinted, so generation after generation will come back to the same chimney. Capping will stop them."
