Home Front: The Mixing Bowl's Mini Morsels

My Aunt Catherine once had a cook who came directly from the kitchen at the Greenbrier. Despite such credentials, my aunt regularly served desserts from the Mixing Bowl Bakery, citing them as the best in town.

On that recommendation, check out the Mixing Bowl's fabulous mini cinnamon rolls, Danishes and sticky buns. "They are perfect to serve as breakfast breads for houseguests, festive brunches, holiday teas or dessert," says Jodi Guzzi, cake decorator at the downtown location. These tasty little morsels allow a sweet treat without the overindulgence of a normal sized pastry -- key in preventing those unwanted holiday pounds.

The Mixing Bowl Bakery now has two locations: 4120 West Broad Street (359-4224) and Parc Place at Short Pump Town Center (360-0942). Visit www.themixingbowlbakery.com.
