Richmond has a new eco-friendly gift and art shop opened in April by local wildlife photographer Barbara Ann Pasnak (above). The Green Turtle features photographs by Pasnak, tree-free greeting cards, soy soap, Hidden Barn soy candles that don't burn black smoke or produce gooky black soot, and lots of other fun, earth-friendly stuff. The Green Turtle also sells local art, such as the found-object sculpture and furniture by Mat Smith Deal.

Spider webs made out of dirt-bike rims, bicycle gears transformed into tree sculptures and tables, and bottle-cap beetles are available to give as gifts or to green up your home. The Green Turtle is located at 1 1/2 S. Stafford Ave. near Main Street and is open Tuesday through Sunday. 359-1031.
