When you’re a big-time Hollywood movie star and make appearances in such blockbuster films as “Inception,” “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Lincoln,” how do you stay creative and fresh? Joseph Gordon-Levitt started his own production company. HitRECord is a mass collaborative production company featuring writers, filmmakers, musicians, editors and artists from all over the world basically remixing original art projects. Launched in 2005, hitRECord has evolved into a thriving community for online creativity in all sorts of media, including video, music, photography, screenwriting, graphic art and anything else its members can dream up. Various works have been featured at the Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest, and the company is on a fall tour of the United States, showing off the best of its collaborations. HitRECord with Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes place at the National on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. $15-$30. thenationalva.com.
