If everyone in Richmond gave four hours to do something good for the community, the city would be a better place. That’s the idea behind HandsOn Greater Richmond Day, in which thousands of volunteers get together for a variety of organized volunteer opportunities, as wide-ranging as painting murals, cleaning debris and landscaping. Project beneficiaries include Tricycle Gardens, the Richmond Public Schools, the YMCA, the Fan Free Clinic, the Virginia Home, the Boys and Girls Clubs and HomeAgain, to name a few. All types of volunteers are welcomed. HandsOn Greater Richmond Day is Saturday, Oct. 29, at various locations. handsonrva.org.
