The Richmond Jazz Society continues its education of the city's musically unwashed with a tribute to gypsy jazz pioneer Django Reinhardt. The guitarist's stylish and defined playing influenced a variety of artists and is rumored to have inspired Jimi Hendrix to name his Band of Gypsies after him. In a celebration of his birth, the society has tapped local musicians Gypsy Roots to help pay tribute to the enduring Reinhardt legend at the Capital Ale House Downtown Music Hall Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. $7-$10. 780-ALES.
