Gym Bully
Regarding the Cary Street Gym (“Miracle on Cary Street,” Arts & Culture, March 31): actually the bigger miracle will be when Virginia Commonwealth University stops hijacking a taxpayer-owned city street and returns it to use by the residents of Richmond. How long has it been since VCU blocked off Linden Street for use as a parking lot and storage yard? How many residents of Richmond could get by with doing the same thing to the streets in front of their houses? Has VCU compensated us for the use of a public street? When will it be returned to us? Your article was published May 31. How about the City of Richmond use that as a starting date for billing VCU $10,000 a day until Linden Street is returned to the people of Richmond.
