Gov't Mule at Innsbrook After Hours

It's difficult not to associate the Southern blues rock of Gov't Mule with the Allman Brothers Band, especially when its de facto leader, Warren Haynes, once was hired by the band when Greg Allman decided to reactivate the '70s rock outfit in 1989. What started as side project to his days playing guitar for Allman, Gov't Mule eventually became Haynes' primary focus, one that would become a staple act for national festivals and jam-loving audiences. Just in time for the release of its eighth studio album, “By a Thread,” Gov't Mule headlines Innsbrook After Hours on Wednesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. $13-$30. 794-6700. — Mike Hilleary
