Ghost of Pop 4 at Gallery5

Without going into too much hyperbole, Ghost of Pop founder and organizer Prabir Mehta is pretty confident that his annual concert at Gallery5 will blow people's mind holes. “I think it's my favorite one that I've ever put [together],” says Mehta, who used to book art for the gallery's monthly shows but now focuses on music — both his and other people's. Now in its fourth year, Friday's musical lineup includes local indie-rock outfits the Awesome Few, Palominos, David Shultz and the Skyline, Hot Lava, Orioles, Zac Hryciak and the Jungle Beat, and Mehta's own group, Prabir and the Substitutes. “It's great because it kind of brings everybody into this mish-mash, musical pop world we have within our city, and it's just a good way to lean on one another, share ideas, get information on where to play,” Mehta says. “It's a community, a little brotherhood.” The Dec. 12 performances kick off at 7 p.m. $5. 200 W. Marshall St. 644-0005. -- Mike Hilleary
