Gear Up Clothing Drive at Paradise Lounge

Scientists can debate the realities of global warming all they want, but a Virginia winter is still one frigid season to step into without a layer of scarves, knitted hats, wool socks, heavy jackets and thermal gloves. For those living on the streets, who are less fortunate or unable to obtain such needed garments, the Have a Heart for the Homeless Foundation holds its annual Gear Up drive, with a Christmas Eve celebration at Paradise Lounge on Dec. 24 from 1-5 p.m. The organization requests any new or gently used items for men and women (sizes often difficult to come by are men's 3XL-6XL), as well as food and monetary donations, with hopes that even those with little can have something to receive for Christmas.
