Gavin Rossdale at the National

For a while it looked as though Gavin Rossdale was going to resign himself to the tabloid title of Mr. Gwen Stefani, leaving the days of his post-grunge ensemble Bush well behind him. With last year's solo outing “Wanderlust,” however, it's clear the guy doesn't want to be regulated to the role of a stay-at-home, symmetrically perfect dad. While getting back to his early '90s appeal may certainly take some time and songwriting dexterity (“Wanderlust” failed to generate much excitement among critics), Rossdale still has his diehard Bush fans, who will be more than willing to welcome him back to the stage when he plays the National on Tuesday, May 12, at 7 p.m. $20-$23. 612-1900 or www.thenationalva.com
