Fan Holiday House Tour; Tobacco Company; Robins Teahouse at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Take high tea with scones and little crust-less nibbles during this year's Fan Holiday House Tour, when "Tastes of Yesteryear" opens private homes for seasonal sustenance. Hosts choose the menus and serve guests in their Fan District dining rooms. Consider a carriage ride or walking tour afterward. Tea from 4-5 p.m. and dinner from 7-9 p.m. are set for Dec. 8. A giant Christmas tree is the focal point of to-the-hilt holiday decorations at Richmond's venerable Tobacco Company restaurant. Dessert fanciers can ogle the lights while loading up at the buffet of sweets, then walk it off downtown amid the James Center displays.
Also this holiday season, diners can enjoy more than 400,000 twinkling lights at the Robins Teahouse at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Christmas entrees include grilled veal chops with port wine poached pear, tropical lobster tail and fruitwood-smoked quail.
