Sooner than later, everyone in Richmond is going to be a craft beer and music aficionado. To help with our continuing education is the Know Good Beer and Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 19, on Brown’s Island. The outdoor class offers 60 beers from 30 local, regional and national breweries. While you educate yourself on the latest advances in alcoholic alchemy, Blitzen Trapper, Kopecky and Those Darlins — national acts chosen for enhanced consideration by festival organizers WNRN-FM 103.1 — will follow an opening set by local Village Green Preservation Society members, the Sleepwalkers. Proceeds go to keep the Charlottesville-based independent radio station on the air. The seven-hour class runs 2-9 p.m. so be sure to get your rest. There will be a lot to learn. Tuition is $40-$50. knowgoodbeer.com.
