After Santa returns to the North Pole, the annual Capital City Kwanzaa Festival celebrates African-American culture and traditions at the Altria Theater on Saturday, Dec. 26. The event is sponsored by the Richmond-based cultural arts and education organization Elegba Folklore Society, and features presentations, workshops and dance performances. There will also be live music from Richmond’s Tunji Reggae Band and Ethiopian funk by the Feedel Band from Washington. For shoppers, there will be a variety of hand-crafted and imported items, art, home décor, natural body care, clothing and jewelry at the African market. Fun for the whole family, the cultural immersion runs from 1-9 p.m. Call 644-3900 or visit efsinc.org.
