Saturday Session is a hip-hopped buffet of creature expressions. The fourth feast of art, poetry, spoken word and music happens Saturday, Jan. 23, hosted and served by Mike Jay and Clovia Grooms Lawrence at Zoetics Bar and Lounge. The night features visuals by Sarah Mills and other Richmond artists to go along with the acoustic soul of New Orleans transplant Torre’ Baker, singer Yaminah Lhetreal’s multi-genre pop and the spoken vibes of Pheree Haliwud Morris. That’s just a taste of the flavors being served. I suggest filling your plate on Candice Nicole’s silky millennia neo soul and the R&B seductions of Kayla Joy Pumpelly — they are both delicious. Add to the mix DJ Ease spinning in between all the flavors and you have a bounty of taste sensations to sample. The smorgasbord opens at 7 p.m. 303-7939.
