Event Pick: FügFest 2015 at the Canal Club

Dave Fugman is gone but not forgotten. The 38-year old Richmond metal bassist died from complications relating to diabetes in May 2013, but family, friends and fans of his work celebrate his life with FügFest at the Canal Club on Saturday, Nov. 7. Organized by his former band mates Joey Mauceri and Ed Savoy, the tribute concert features performances by a who’s who of the Richmond metal scene, including the Josh Duncan Band, Typecast, the Medusa, Gritter, White Knuckle Battery, Saint Diablo and a New Enemy. Members from each band played with Fugman at some point in his life and all proceeds from the concert go to the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association. Doors open for the all-ages commemoration at 6:30 p.m. $8-$10. thecanalclub.com.
