Aside from contributing numerous backing vocals and recording countless duets with artists including Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Neil Young, singer and songwriter Emmylou Harris also has gained critical acclaim for her transcendent solo work. The 12-time Grammy Award-winner graces the Groovin' in the Garden series and brings with her a collection of heartwarming folk and country songs that can evoke feelings of nostalgia for calm summer nights. And if we're lucky, she may dive throat-first into the Gram Parsons songbook as well. Emmylou Harris performs at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on Wednesday, July 20, at 5:30 p.m. $45-$55. 262-9887.
