Ed Barber Shows His True Colors

Apparently, the wife of Ed Barber knows him well.

The story on Ed Barber's "privileges" proffered to 5- and 6-year-olds ("Barber: Back Rubs From Elementary School Students a 'Privilege,'" Street Talk, Aug. 1) at a Chesterfield County Elementary School included a riposte from his wife.

According to Mrs. Barber, "If he had thought he had done something wrong, he would not have been truthful about the situation." Mrs. Barber confirms her husband's habitual falsehoods concerning sexual assaults he knows are wrong.

What did we learn July 2 in Chesterfield Circuit Court?

Barber, who proclaims he pled guilty only to avoid prison, failed his court-ordered Lifeline polygraph test, a condition of his probation. Barber, asked "point-blank" if he was guilty of the sexual object penetration by force, threat or intimidation against a juvenile, answered, "No."

The examiner determined that Barber's response was "clearly deceptive."

So now, even Mrs. Barber confirms what the rest of us already knew.
