Throwing traditional jam-band rock out the window and putting their own spin on it, the members of Downbeat Switch add elements of jazz and funk into their music and deliver an upbeat, energetic set guaranteed to get the crowd moving. The Mathews County natives released “The Red Door Sessions” last year and gained a steady following of supporters with a never-ending schedule of live performances. In the past year, the group underwent some lineup changes, adding a new drummer and keyboardist. With plenty of new songs to test, Downbeat Switch performs at City Dogs’ in the Fan on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10 p.m. Free. 359-3647.
