Mother Nature recently has been engaged in an incessant hissy fit of late, throwing down all sorts of severe weather across Virginia and the surrounding states. But no matter how bad things get and how much the weather forces us to take shelter from the elements, it doesn't take long before we're right back outside enjoying all kinds of open-air activities. Hoping for clear skies, the Sports Backers and Venture Richmond return for another year for the annual Dominion Riverrock Festival. Celebrating all kinds of riverfront competitions such as the Filthy 5-K Mud Run, freestyle cross-country biking, kayaking, air-dog distance jumping, as well as a new 20-foot bouldering cave to climb, the two-day event kicks off on Friday, May 13 at 4 p.m., with live musical performances and gear giveaways throughout.
