A half-million lights. By any stretch of the imagination that’s a lot of illumination, but in Richmond that’s what we do to make sure Santa never forgets where we are. Starting Friday, Nov. 29, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden fills the night with its annual Dominion Gardenfest of Lights. Gazing at all those meticulously arranged twinkling bulbs and botanical decorations never ceases to amaze, much less considering the sheer hours it must take to put all those lights in their proper place. And when the switch gets turned on, even Ebenezer Scrooge would be impressed. On top of the nightly show, there’s a bounty of family-friendly activities and exhibits to take in at Lewis Ginter during this holiday season. Through Jan. 13.

    • Great article. The second architecture firm mentioned out of Boston is actually Tappe, not Toppe.
