Destined for a Stage Play

LeToya Luckett proves there's life after Destiny's Child, even when you're not Jay-Z's girlfriend. After settling a lawsuit with the other girls and the group's management, LeToya kept grinding and eventually landed a deal with Capitol Records. But a platinum-selling debut and a hosting gig for the Soul Train Music Awards wasn't enough to keep her from the bush leagues of African-American entertainment: the traveling stage play. The Texas singer will be joined by former cast members of the sitcom "Family Matters," Telma Hopkins and Darius McCrary, in a production of "Rumors," a play about a medical student (McCrary) who is about to marry his pregnant girlfriend when his childhood sweetheart (Luckett) returns to his life. The play runs for one night at the Landmark Theater Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $31.50-$36.50. Call 262-8100 or visit www.ticketmaster.com. -- C.B.
