Folk-pop group Delta Rae emerged from the quiet backwoods of Durham, N.C., with four-part harmonies and rich, Southern soul. Of its six members, four are vocalists and three are siblings. Described as Mumford and Sons meets Fleetwood Mac, Delta Rae mixes aspects of Americana and folk and throws in some good old pop flavor. After releasing its self-titled debut EP in 2010, Delta Rae began touring relentlessly, opening for such acts as Edwin McCain and Hanson, before headlining shows to sold-out crowds. The group released its debut album, “Carry the Fire,” in June and VH1 has named it a You-Oughta-Know artist on the rise. Delta Rae performs at the National with local favorites Long Arms and Anousheh on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. $12.50. thenationalva.com.
