After spending years perfecting his songwriting and making a name for himself — including a spot on Style Weekly’s 2012 Music Issue compilation — singer and songwriter Dean Fields is leaving Richmond and heading to Nashville, Tenn. After his wife had surgery for a brain tumor, Fields decided that it was time to do the things in their lives that they were putting on hold. Not one to leave home without a proper goodbye, Fields has been performing a series of farewell shows with his friends and promises a big blowout party before he leaves. Dean Fields performs at Capital Ale House on Friday, June 29, at 9 p.m. $10. 643-2537.
